Memories

Ted Schulz

It is with sadness today, Monday, February 19, 2024, we lost a good friend and colleague early this morning. Ted Schulz had a medical emergency at his Loveland hotel room on Monday. He was transported to a local hospital where he passed away. Ted was a warm person, a big family man, a longtime public servant, a strong supporter of youth volleyball, and a good guy. We’ll miss his enthusiasm, friendliness, and kind spirit. I’ll send along more information as I receive it.

Take care,

Jim Henthorn

Update:

Service for Ted Schulz will be on Tuesday, February 27 at 11AM, with a lunch to follow for anyone who would like to stay.

Ray Lameiro

It is with great sadness we announce Ray Lameiro lost his two-year battle with cancer Friday, February 2, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.

Ray joined our volleyball family 2005-06 season. During his 18 years with CVOA, he served on the CVOA Board as an area director and the last 7 years as our state rule’s interpreter. He was selected to work 12 state tournaments and 3 state finals during his time in CVOA.

For those who were fortunate to meet or work with Ray, we will always remember his passion for volleyball. He always had a smile on his face and loved spending time on the volleyball court. He had a passion for wanting each of us to succeed. He was loved by players, coaches, and peers. His soft approach to game management would calm even the toughest situations during a match.

Here are the details for Ray Lameiro’s memorial service:

    – 10 am
    – St Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish – 5450 S Lemay Ave., Fort Collins, CO. 80525

Pete Brenckle Jr.

It saddens us to announce the untimely passing of one of our members, Pete Brenckle, a longtime member of CVOA who lost his battle with cancer on April 10, 2020, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

We will surely miss him. He always had a smile on his face and was happy to see you. He was a mentor and friend to all. Many of us came to know Pete as one of the IT guys at the state tournament. And if you were lucky you worked with Pete throughout the years as a colleague on the volleyball court.

  • Pete Brenckle will be deeply missed. I’ve known Pete for a long time, and my favorite and most cherished memories are off the court. The heavens truly are blessed with one of the best. I love you, Pete. Rest In Peace. [Kim Klatt Renquest]
  • Prayers for those Pete leaves behind. [Gary Schritter]
  • He will be missed. [Michelle Fix-Westall]
  • Worked with Pete many times & he was always professional. Pete was a wonderful man. I’m shocked as I didn’t know he was ill. RIP. Condolences to his family. [Scott Cull]
  • God Bless you Pete. [Chris Atencio]
  • Rest In Peace Pete! [Ruth Rutherford]
